As an employee, you are concerned about your leaves? Being an employee of a company, you need to be aware of the different types of leaves that exist for you.


Multiple companies have adopted various types of leaves in India

Here is the list of Leaves that companies offer to their employees.


1. Menstruation Leave

Many companies like Swiggy, Zomato, Byju’s, Mathrubhumi, etc provide mensural leave for their employees. Companies might give 1 or 2 days' leave each month. Menstrual leave was first got implemented in 1947 in Japan.



2. Sick Leave

When they are not feeling well employees can avail themselves of Sick Leave. If required you need to show a medical certificate from your doctor. You can apply through a formal email or any HR software on the same day as taking a break.


3. Casual Leave

Casual leave is can be paid leave availed after the probation period. leave is granted to employees & employers in India by the company. This leave is casual defines an event or some situation that occurs by chance and without any plan.


4. Maternity Leave (ML)

According to the maternity benefit act of 1961: paid leave is provided to women employees after a child's birth. you can get leave for 26 Weeks based on different conditions. Also, you are eligible to get 12 Weeks of paid leaves for your 2nd and 3rd onwards. Companies allow to extend leave for one month in critical health emergencies.


5. Paternity Leave (PL)

Paternity leaves offer to employees about to become a father. Many companies allow the father to take paternity leave. leave provided with the motive to take care of their newborn. The leave entitlement varies from 2 days to 4 weeks and depends entirely on the employer's policies.


6. Bereavement Leave

Bereavement leave provides for temporary time off when facing the death of a friend or family member.
